Alarmy Pro - Alarm Clock App Reviews

The update added a problem

I dont write reviews but I just a updated the app and now its taking forever to get my songs from my iTunes playlist, so I have to keep refreshing the app. Just fix this bug, it was fine before.

Riddled with bugs

This is by far one of the buggies apps I have ever seen. They didnt even update it when the interface was totally broken in iOS9 for weeks. Thats basically unforgivable. The time selection widgets are terrible, hard to make an accurate choice and over complicated, they totally over-engineered that. Just implement regular selection widgets!! The temperature is cut off about half the time to one digit, the alarm is too loud, taking a photo is inaccurate because something is wrong with the button and half of it doesnt respond to a tap. At least the alarm goes off and allows you, with much work, to turn it off with a photo. Thats pretty much all this app gets right.

Come with me if you want to...wake up!

If you want to wake up in the morning this is your alarm. Pictures mode (as I call it) is the way to go, but shaking mode (or shake to turn off or whatever) is not bad either - you have to shake it pretty vigorously for the app to register a "shake". I charge my phone while I sleep (as should everyone for a number of reasons...) so I havent been effected by that. The app even has some work around a for those of us who might try to "close" the app (double clicking the home button and swiping the app up) - the only way to cheat is to uninstall the app. Something Ive done before.... As for the interface, I like it and think its cute. Its an alarm app and you arent really gonna spend much time adjusting it and such so for when you do set it I dont mind a unique way to do so.

WILL wake you.

Picture mode gets me up and moving 100% of the time! Very affective.

great interface

I used to use step out of bed to do the same thing, but had to switch apps because the interface was so clunky. alarmys interface is way more intuitive. also, alarmy still works if my phone is set to silent. my only complaint and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the picture alarm way too picky. it takes me at least 10 tries to dismiss the alarm.

Great App - Terrible Battery

This app is great- the picture mode works wonderfully, and forces me out of the bed and into my bathroom in order to shut it up, which works great since Im such a heavy sleeper. However, after noticing my terrible battery life for the past few days, I checked to find that Alarmy has been using 20% of my phones battery by running in the background. Since I only use this app in the morning, I dont need it for the rest of the day, yet it drains my battery horrifically. If youre looking for an app to get you up in the morning, this is definitely the #1 choice. However, dont expect your battery to be the best while youre using this app.

If this doesnt wake you up, youre not sleeping enough!

Spitefully low review because it bugged out on me just now and has been obnoxious about asking for a review, but give it a try if youre one of those people who could sleep through open cannonfire.

Waste of money

biggest waste of money in App Store

I used to swear by this app, but its been broken for months

I loved this app I wish it worked or you been using it over 2 years. Ever since the iOS 8 and 9 it randomly doesnt not to go off if you cannot depend on this thing to wake you up consistently. Ive contacted be at developers but they have not fixed the issue. It starts working again Ill change my review. However for now looks like Im looking for a different solution.

Bummed

This app was so good, and totally worth the couple bucks, and then the developers dropped it. Im super bummed as I was only able to use it about two weeks, and have been waiting a month for the promised redesign. I really wish I could get my money back.

Absolute joke of an app

The principle is great but the way they deliver it is so buggy and horrendous. First thing I noticed after I paid 1.99 was the interface wasnt updated for iOS9. Thats not a big deal to me, but quite unprofessional. The next thing I noticed is that when you take a picture of your target picture for the alarm, it saves the picture to your camera roll! I had about 50 pictures littered in my camera roll from trying to get up in the morning. The last straw I had with this app was when I tried to use it one morning and it glitched and wouldnt recognize the picture I was taking, no matter how accurate I was lining the two up. I tried force rebooting, and it when booted back up it was looping, spamming me with 100s of notifications, and I thought the app was gonna toast the vibration mechanism in my phone. I got rid of it all by deleting the app, but wow what a waste of money that was.

Pretty good

This app is very good. They just need to figure out a way to stop me from deleting the app

Does its job

A lot of bugs but does its job! It allows you to choose an alarm tone, but doesnt work. I used to be a horrible snoozer but since using this app (aside from the two times the alarm didnt work, which I suspect was user error) Ive gotten up and out of bed at the time I wanted.

Room for improvement

I downloaded Alarmy last year in an effort to wake up earlier and build a better morning routine. The app is an effective alarm *SOMETIMES.* The app is very good at forcing you to wake up and stop the infernal noise by taking a photo or shaking your phone very vigorously. However, my big gripes with this alarm are that it has to run in the background at all times and it often does not alert for two or more of my alarms throughout the day. That poses a problem for waking up on time! Hopefully, the developers can fix these bugs because Id love to love this app!

Works as an alarm; glitches arent worth it

This app works well as an alarm clock. You cannot ignore it or quit it and you have to get out of bed to take the picture, or shake your phone x amount of times to get it to stop. However, Im not sure it is worth the glitches. You cant shut out of the app, which just seems unnecessary any time other than the time you need the alarm to go off. So it is constantly using your phones battery to refresh your location so it can give you the weather. Also because the alarm is constantly active when you change the time or date on your phone the app completely freaks out. Even though it was changed back to the current time less than a 30 seconds later. I had to delete the app because I wasnt anywhere near the coffee pot it wanted me to take a picture of at 9pm.

DOESNT WORK

TWO days in a row I relied on this app to get my up in the morning for work and both days it never went off. Waste of time and money.

thx for this app

good

Wakes me up, but alarm randomly goes off

It does the job but thats only if you can deal with the Alarm going off randomly 3-5 times a day

UNUSABLE

After the update, the app is useless. I set up a trial alarm, since I had to reset everything, and I did what I needed to do to dismiss the alarm, but it would not shut off. I "killed" the app, and it was still going off. I powered off my phone and restarted, and it was still going off when the phone came back on. I had to delete the app entirely, for it to stop going off. What a shame. I wish I never updated.

Changes in 3.0 are awful

The concept of Alarmy is great, and historically it has worked very well. But the 3.0 update is terrible. It made a bunch of changes that lowered the quality of the app by a lot. 1. When taking a picture to turn off the alarm, it now forces you to use the cameras flash with no way to disable it, and no warning that its going to happen. I had to figure out how to cover it up while the alarm kept going and going because the flash changed the lighting conditions too much to match the picture on file. 2. Before 3.0, when the alarm would go off, you would swipe up from the bottom and the camera would open. Now you swipe up from the bottom and then have to press another button to open the camera. They should be making it take fewer steps to use the app, not more. 3. There are several features added which are not explained anywhere. What is headphone mode? What is low power mode? 4. Please add the ability to change the amount of time between when you swipe up to take a picture and when the alarm starts sounding again. Its too short.
